Cannot open Spectrum's PCB file

Hi All,

I would like to ask a question on Spectrum's PCB layout file.

For Spectrum's 6437 EVM board, there is a "PCAD design file" with suffix .pcb provided on http://c6000.spectrumdigital.com/evmdm6437/reve/.

I tried two ways to open it:
1. Using "Import Wizard" in Altium Designer but it tells me "PCAD file not recognized".

2. Using "P-CAD viewer" from Legacy Downloads for P-CAD, but it tells me that "Invalid (self-intersecting polygons) detected" and cannot continue.

Could you advise me the right way to open it?

See attached the snapshot from Spectrum Digital. Can you verify the software version you are using ?

Dear Varada,

I am using Altium Designer 6.0.0.5208.

In Altium Designer I could see nothing but the gray background.

Nor oculd I import/convert the P-CAD file into the Altium Designer as shown in the first post.

Is there a way to open that? Or could Spectrum Digital provide a Altium Designer version of the file? P-CAD is far less popular and has been discontinued by Altium in 2008 so it is very inconvenient to still have files maintained in this old format.

Spectrum Digital suggests :

On PCAD viewer select continue for polygon item

Thanks. Also Spectrum Digital removed the flood files on the outer layers they would need to be replaced in the long run but this is the item that was causing the polygon issues.
