I am very new in the field of EtherCAT. I am going to buy LAUNCHXL-F28379D and TMDXICE110 AMIC110 to study.

In the figure below, it does not ask a XDS200 to set up a hardware

But in the figure below, it asks a XDS200 to set up a hardware

Is it necessary to buy a XDS200 to make an EtherCAT project? Can I make an EtherCAT project without XDS200?
