About AM4372 + external RAM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM4372, AMIC120

Hi every all !!!

I am designin my hardware bsaed in AM4372, I hace 2 question please,

1-) The AM4372 has witdh in the ram data bus (DQ0-DQ31) of 23 bits.
Can I connect only one memory RAM of 16 bits in the low half of the bus (D0-D15) ?
If yes, what I must to do with hight half of the bus (D16-D31)? I must keep open or pulled?

2-) In the refence design: AM437x StarterKit EVM, there are a flash memory MX66L51235FMI. Can I removed it in my custom desing? I my design I have a eMMC NAND flash.

Thanks very much. Best Regards

Everything you asked above is documented in Section 5.12.8.2.1.3.1 "DDR3 Interface Schematic" in the data manual.

Yes, you can remove it.  I assume you have something else planned for non-volatile memory so you can boot the device.

  • Yes, I have planned another non-volatile memory foor boot.
    Thanks very much.
    Your answer was very usefull.

Please, could you give me the link of the data manual? Please

    I am using: AM437x and AMIC120 ARM® Cortex™-A9 Processors Technical Reference Manual

    Thanks very much.
