TDA2SG: What is the video input port (VIP) throughput?

Hi Sir,

I am using TDA2x EVM and SDK_0304 to develop,

the daughter board connects 4 LVDS HD cameras and working ok,

each camera is 30 fps.

Can TDA2x EVM connect 4 LVDS "Full HD" cameras, and each camera frame rate is also 30 fps ?

Is it over 8bit or 16bit interface?

Each port of VIP can capture upto 150MHz, whereas 1080p @30fps even on 8bit requires less than 100MHz. So should be possible to capture.

Hi Brijesh,

If using 2M sensor , 8 bit YUV422 format, and frame rate is 30fps, the total bandwidth should be 2M * 30 * 8 bit * 2 = 960 Mbits.

Each parallel line has to transfer 960M / 8 = 120M.

120M data rate is less than VIP maximum capacity 150MHz, that means Full HD, 8 bit, YUV422 format can be captured by VIP,

even 4 Full-HD camera have no problem, Is it correct ?

As long as the port (pins) is available, yes, it is possible to capture..
