MPEG4 encoder failure on DM355

Hello Champs,

My customer experiences the problem with MPEG4 encoder on DM355 IPNC - when they add SVH parameter to IMP4VENC_Params structure. For the rest parameters (and with default parameters as well) encoder works but gives artefacts in the video - see attached snapshot. Please advise how to improve quality of the encoder using additional parameters?
When they add SVH parameter encoder fails and is not created. (some more information on the failure is here (logs):

Where in external forum they will reply?

And do I understand correctly that MPEG4 codec for DM355 is not created by TI but licensed from 3rd party?

Ilya,

When you say the artefacts of the type in the attached image are observed with the encoder running with default parameters, is it running in base mode or extended mode?

Also can you get back with the version of the MPEG4 encoder that is causing the issue so that I can perform further tests at my end.

They use the following SW versions:

> - SDK APPRO - IPNC_DM355_RelVer1.2
> - DVSDK - dvsdk_1_30_00_40
> - encoder - dm355_codecs_1_12_000

They use base mode and in the extended mode they also experience the same type of artefacts.

Hi,

I tried with dvsdk_1_30_01_41 and dvtb_1_24_000 with dm355_codecs_1_12_000.

With default parameters, both in extended and base mode, it is running fine – without any of the artifacts as in the screenshot.

Even with SVH mode enabled, there is no problem.

Is it possible for you to obtain a sample of the input and output for further analysis as well as the all parameters, so that I can recheck.

This problem was solved by migrating to dvsdk_1_30_01_41 .
