AM1705 EMIFB Query

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1705, AM1707

Hello,

We are using AM1705 in one of our projects, and had queries on EMIFB interfacing:

1) Mentioned in datasheet page 1, 16-bit SDRAM with 256MB address space.
As per SPRUFV1 (AM17x ARM microprocessor EMIFB), page 12, one can have 32-bit SDRAM or 2, 16-bits SDRAM interfacing to AM1705 when EM_WE_DQM[3:0] are interfaced directly from AM1705 to SDRAM IC.
As per register SDRAM_CONFIG, we can set 32-bit mode or 16-bit mode; however AM1705 EMIF pins only support 16-bit bus and 2 EM_WE_DQM lines.
    a) Does this mean if we interface 32-bit SDRAM and configure AM1705 in register (SDCFG) we can interface it directly?
    b) If so, then how do we know which pins can be used? Kindly clarify.

2) Page 68 of AM1705 datasheet shows, EMIFB supported SDRAM configurations, table 6-21 shows that glueless interface for range of 8MB to 256MB interface, has 32bit EMIFB bus and 2 Memory IC's are always used.
    a) Does it mean we cannot have a single 16MB SDRAM (2M X 16 X 4) directly interfacing to AM1705. Kindly clarify.
     b) To interface 256MB SDRAM we will have to use 2 IC's? If so, then we would require 2 additional EM_WE_DQM lines? Will this be glueless interface?

Kindly revert back on our above queries at the earliest.

Thanks & Regards,
