Compiler/DRA722: DRA722/ Kernel Hangs at "Starting Kernel" when booting from eMMC

Hi,

Using Android 6AO.1.1.

We have DRA722  based custom board. 

We would face a booting issue while we bring up our custom board, with prebuild image the Kernel Hangs at "Starting Kernel" when booting from eMMC.

but with when booting from sdcrard the kernel started well (with kernel panic due to HW definition) .

  • Hi,

    Can you make sure you are using the same dtb and kernel binary for eMMC and SD card?
    Also try enabling earlyprintk in kernel to get some additional logs.

    This doesn't look like emmc boot issue. Kernel boot has started.

    Are you sure the kernel image flashed to eMMC is the correct one? Is this the same kernel that's working on SD card boot?

    Version info from your log below. This looks like a Kernel built from TI servers.

    The kernel booting from eMMC has different version.

    What I am trying to say is, the behavior difference between SD card and eMMC could be because of different kernel images being used. And this issue is not related to booting from eMMC.
