Part Number: TDA4VM
Dear Sir/Mam,
Are there any threads for HW accelerators for TDA4VM ?

Hi Manish,
you can check section "6.3 Accelerators and Coprocessors" in device's data manual:

Also you can check this document for SDK support:

Let me know in you search for info for particular HWA.

Yordan
Hello Yordan,
thanks for your reply but I didn't understand what is a OpenVX ? What is PDK ? We use SDK but don't know PDK.
Also to be precise of the problem statement we have is : We have to make sure that the HW accelerator MMA is accessible from A72 cores , is it now more clear to you ?
Best Regards
Manish
Hi Manish,
PDK (Platform development kit) is part of the SDK that contains the device drivers, OpenVX is a software framework used in ProcessorSDK to create applications (you can check Processor SDK documentation for further info).
I will ping an expert to help with MMA question.
Regards,
Yordan
Hi Manish,
MMA is very integral to the latest C7x DSP. If you have to access from A72 you will have to use IPC to get to C7x and then execute programs written for MMA.
Currently TIDL makes extensive use of MMA accelerator present in C7x DSP. In our SDK we have several example which shows how to access C7x using a middleware framework such as OpenVx. As Yordan indicated, please go over the SDK documentation on vision_apps, pdk, tiovx and tidl.

Shyam
Thanks a lot Shyam we will be in touch with you for the next weeks and i will keep this Thread open for the time being as we have planned it for the next sprint.
Hi Manish,
Sure we can keep it open, but we highly encourage our customers to open separate threads for each of the topic or issue they face. This helps us reply better to the post and also help others search for a similar issue they are facing.

Shyam
Hello Shyam,
We have a question here: Is it possible to access the HWA's (VPAC, DMPAC) directly from A72 cores without running RTOS on R5 cores ?
Are there OpenVX drivers availaible from Linux side ?
Regards
Manish
No there are 10 drivers available from Main R5_2_1 core running RTOS,
1. CSI-Rx
2. DSS
3. VISS
4. MSC
5. NF
6. LDC
7. SDE
8. DOF
9. Encode
10. Decode
Only GPU driver is available on A72.
Hello Shyam,
Does that mean that :
The
1. VPAC (Vision Pre-processing Accelerator)
2. DMPAC (Depth and Motion Perception Accelerator)
may be accessed by any core in the main domain (including A72).
There are now drivers available to access it from Linux / A72 ?
Regards
Manish
Hi Manish,
The drivers to VPAC, DMPAC is provided ONLY from Main RF5 core not A72 core. This is done because customers are free to choose the HLOS to run on A72 be it Linux, QNX, GreenHills, PikeOS etc. Whatever they choose for A72, the underlying drivers remain the same as they run ONLY from Main R5F.

Shyam
