AM6546: OSC1 clock frequency

Hi,

In AM6546 EVM design the Crystal used for OSC1_XI is 24.576MHz.

The AM6546 datasheet recommends OSC1_XI to be 19.2MHz, 20MHz, 24MHz, 25MHz, 26MHz, 27MHz.

Kindly suggest whether 24.576MHz will be fine as we are also planning to use the same(24.576MHz) for our Design based on AM6546.

    Kazi,

    The discrete frequencies are required if you are using OSC1 for generating clock inputs to the PLLs.  If you're using the OSC1 to feed the McASP and timer blocks then you can use the same 24.576 MHz clock that is on the EVM.
