C5515 Fingerprint Development Kit (Wipe Sensor)

Dear Sir,

Good day sir , I am new user to the fingerprint development .As i know there is tow type of sensor and there is simplified code for each of them and when purchasing i have to ask the supplier i purchase the FDK to supply me with the required sensor (i want Wipe sensor) but when i go to the FDK from digikey they did not mention that ,moreover i do  not know what is included in their development package ?

and i want to develop and verify that development using my own C5515 development kit  before going and purchase the FDK .So can i have this library (Simplified codes and TI application notes) just for testing and verifying its features ??

Thank you

  • Hello Basem,

When you order the FDK, both swipe and optical sensors should be shipped together in the same box.

There is an unofficial Google Group dedicated to the FDK: http://groups.google.com/group/c5515-fdk

Under the downloads section, you will find FDK_Demo.7z which contains the FDK_Demo code. Due to licensing restrictions of the swipe sensor, there is simplified code for just the optical sensor. Some users on the group have discussed how to program the DSP to use the swipe sensor.

You can also communicate with the C5515 DSP on the FDK over UART from another processor with the production binaries for the swipe sensor written into FDK flash (production binaries ship with the FDK for both swipe and optical sensors). In fact the FDK comes with an onboard MSP430 to communicate with the C5515 DSP to perform fingerprint storage and matching.

Various documents are also available in the Google Groups downloads section.

    Hope this helps,
    Mark
