xDM structure clarification: VIDENC1 : encodedBufs.bufSize.

All,

From the xDM documentation on VIDENC1 outArgs.encodedBufs I get the following line.

The encodedbuf.bufSize field returned corresponds to the actual valid bytes available in the buffer

It led to a small debate at our end whether the actual valid bytes means that it is equal to bytesGenerated by the encoder or the actual size of the buffer.  From CE stub usage and the fact that it is a single buf descriptor it becomes clear that it houses the actual size of the buffer and not the valid generated bytes.

Just wanted to confirm and clarify that this is understood right at our end.

Just a thought: Perhaps changing it to

The encodedbuf.bufSize field returned corresponds to the actual valid size of the buffer and not the bytesGenerated

makes it more explicit. :)
