AM35xx in network applications (design considerations)

Hi developers,

I have an application where the processor must operate as a router. So I need:

  • Linux Kernel does packet forwarding (this requirement may be heavy to ARM architecture)
  • Port Quagga to use OSPF (to update routing table)

I'm interested to know:

  • Does it exist routers that use ARM processor?
  • Tools to networking applications are ported to ARM?
  • Does anyone know comparative performance of ARM in networking applications?

Thanks!

Poloni.
