Determining OMAP version at runtime

Hi All,

We have a both a OMAP-L138 LogicPD EVM board and a OMAP-L137 Spectrum DigitalEVM board. We will be eventually building a custom board with one or the other. In the meantime I've created ARM code that so far runs on both...

I do need to be able to determine which OMAP I have to further setup peripheral devices and resources. So looking for the easiest way I can determine the OMAP type at runtime -- if this is possible...

Primary way to do this would be to have the software read the DEVIDR0 register/ JTAG ID register resides at address location 0x01C1 4018, the values for this is documented in the OMAPL1x datasheets

For OMAPL138 these are

• 0x0B7D 102F for silicon revision 1.0
• 0x0B7D 102F for silicon revision 1.1
• 0x1B7D 102F for silicon revision 2.0

For OMAPL137 these are

• 0x0B7D F02F for silicon revision 1.0
• 0x8B7D F02F for silicon revision 1.1
• 0x9B7D F02F for silicon revision 2.0

Hi Mukul,

How about the device ID for C6748 silicon revision 2.1? Is it the same as silicon revision 2.0, 0x1B7D_102F ?

Correct PG2.x (2.0 and 2.1) silicon has the same device id 0x1B7D_102F
