Unique ID register for DM365?

Hello all,

Is there a processor register on the DM365 that can be read to obtain anything like a unique ID? Like a serial number or die ID or similar? On the OMAP L-138 there was a die ID register that yielded a unique ID per chip. I'm just wondering if there's anything similar for the DM365.

You can find the details about Device ID register DEVICEID in section 6.27.1 of DM365 datasheet (TMS320DM365 Digital Media System-on-Chip (Rev. D)) .

Hi Suresh,

Thanks for the reply. I don't think that's what I'm looking for, as it seems to just be a software-accessible copy of the JTAG device ID. I read this register from two different DM365s and got the same value. I'm looking for something that would be unique for each manufactured chip.

Hi Suresh,

I'm also interested to figure out how to fetch the DM365's Die ID. I'm thinking it should be possible since I see the BeagleBoard does it. The following patch shows where the registers are hidden: http://groups.google.com/group/beagleboard/browse_thread/thread/92d41bb344f8939b?fwc=1

Can you or someone from TI confirm that this is possible and the details on where the DM365's "OMAP_TAP_DIE_ID_0-4" variants exist?

We are now working on DM6467T and wanna use the Unique Die ID for some cryption purpose. Will you please tell us which document describe that topic(unique die id) after NDA sign? Thank you.

And one more question, DM6467T includes an EMAC, does it mean there is an unique MAC address in the chip, and how do we get that? Thanks.
