TDA2HG: How to test read and write entire DDR memory(1G) on faster way

Hi,

As title ask, since I can't test entire memory in Linux stage, it only can be test in uboot. I tried "mtest" command, but it is so slow. 1G read and write will cost almost 3 months...

So does anyone know there is faster way to do that?

Hi Tim,

U-boot mtest is known to be slow. I would recommend kernel:

free -m | grep Mem: | awk '{print "FREEonly===" $7 "MB"}{system("./memtester " $7 -20" 2")}'

Basically get the available free memory and subtract 20MB from that and run memtester that should be the fastest.

Thanks for your reply. But hardware guys require me to test entire DDR, which can not test in linux. I know u-boot still can not test entire DDR, but it can test larger area anyway.

So is there any replacement tool for mtest in uboot?

There are instances of 2GB testing. So you could try 1GB testing on TDA2HG.

There are no other known fast memtester on u-boot.
