TDA4VM: How to start ethfw ?

Hi,

I have four questions about ethfw.

1. Is /lib/firmware/the app_remoteswitchcfg_server_pdk_mem_map_strip.xer5f which I find in TI prebuild folder the ethfw ?

2. If the Ethfw is placed under this directory(/lib/firmware/), will TI have a mechanism to bring him up by default ? Or what config do we need to open to start Ethfw.

3. Which COM port will receive the message that ethfw R5F output. My environment is from TI's prebuild image (PSDK_6.2.0).

Linux kernel messages output messages from COM port 6, but there are no messages output from COM port 7 ~ 9.

If there is no message, does it mean that ethfw on our platform may not start normally.

4. The following are our files in rootfs, is it enough?

The firmware itself is included to the Processor SDK RTOS Automotive package:

The firmware loading and initialization of the Linux virtual driver is docuemented in the Processor SDK Linux Automotive package.

Drivers initialization

The Linux TI remoteproc core ensures proper R5F core initialization, loads and starts the EthSwitch firmware, and creates the default virtio devices for interacting with this firmware. The virtio_rpmsg_bus driver performs discovery of the RPMSG devices and creates an rpmsg-kdrv device, which, in turn, will trigger the rpmsg-kdrv core to discover “mpu_1_0_ethswitch-device-0” and probe the rpmsg_kdrv_switch driver

The j721e-cpsw-virt-mac driver is started separately by the Linux core once the corresponding main_r5fss_cpsw9g_virt_macX device has been created by the Linux DT parsing code. Once started, the j721e-cpsw-virt-mac driver will wait for rpmsg_kdrv_switch driver to be probed.

Open up a serial terminal for UART2 communication. This terminal will show logs from MCU2_0 core where the demo application runs.

Set serial parameters to: 115200 8N1.
Set hardware and software flow control to "No".
Below figure shows serial parameters set in Minicom
