C5515 Fingerprint Development Kit (FDK)

Hello,

My senior design team and I are trying to design a remote keyless home entry system.  We want to use the C5515 fingerprint development kit to read finger prints and then send a signal through a transceiver to a door latch receiver to open.  We were wondering if this FDK would work and could easily be programed to any transceiver.  We also want it to be a hand held device that makes opening the door easy. Would we also be needing a micro-controller to interface the FDK and the transceiver?

We appreciate all help in this matter.

  • what kind of interface of your transceiver? The C5515 support many standard interfaces.

You can make it handheld, but you may need to redesign the extension board and make battery powered.

The current extension card already has a micro-controller, you can reused the design.

  • Thanks for the response. We planned on using The LINX TRM-315 –LT Series Transceiver Module. Will this work? And would some programing be required?

Would the micro-controller be easily reused for your purpose? Thanks again Wen.
