OMAP-L138 VBUS Circuit when using L138 as Device only

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Hi,

My customer is now designing OMAP-L138 board.

Their application is a printer. So, OMAP-L138 USB operates as Device mode only.

They connect 'L138's USB0_VBUS pin' directly to 'USB connector's VBUS pin' (without any pull-up or down resistor to 5V or GND).

 Is this no problem ?

Looking into Table 3. USB Terminal Functions, sprufm9h (USB2.0 User's Guide), I found a sentence for USB0_VBUS.

==> "For device or host only mode of operation, pull-up this pin to 5V with an external 1K ohm resistor."

So, I am wondering if the customer needs to place 1K ohm pull-up resistor to  'L138 VBUS === connector VBUS' line.

Please advise.

Best regards,
