AM5748: GPMC interface between DSP and FPGA

Hi All,

We are looking for GPMC interface access from DSP, we want to interface DSP and FPGA using GPMC interface.

we are using TI PDK RTOS for DSP, is it possible to configure gpmc using DSP rtos software and read/write data to FPGA?

also when FPGA sends the data, how DSP will come to know that data is available? (interrupt or some other mechanism can be used)

You can refer to the example in PDK.

~/pdk_am57xx_x_x_xx/packages/ti/csl/example/gpmc/fpga_read_write

This example is built for A15.

You can start with this and make it work on A15 with your FPGA.

After that, you can port this to run on DSP.

Thanks Stanley, for the reference code.

We want more information on data read using GPMC, is there any interrupt/notification event we can map for DMA read?

We don't want to poll the data.

Hi Snehal,

You can use GPIO to trigger an event and start the DMA transfer. Once DMA starts, it can trigger a completion interrupt.

We don't have DMA request which can tie to GPMC read request.

There is one DMA request in GMPC but it is only for NAND flash prefetch engine.
