Compiler/TDA4VM: arago-base-tisdk-image build for TDA4VM

Hi TI members:

We are studying to do clean-build tisdk-rootfs-image daily for our feature develop.

But We will meet build problem on build meta-qt5 related item, example: qt5engine, qt5webkit...., and some time not.

It seem our build system is not stable for build tisdk-rootfs-image.

and the build folder size is too big, and we need to spend too much time to clean-build.

So I would like to try to build arago-base-tisdk-image only.

But I not sure that use arago-base-tisdk-image images to run TDA4 EVM board's surrounding interface is enough or not.

Can you give us some advice how to build minimal Filesytem for run TDA4 EVM board?

Hi Sentinen,

You do not have to build the filesystem to use the TDA4 EVM board.

The SDK comes prepackaged with the filesystem using which you can prepare the card to get things working. Have you already tried this?

If you need to build the SDK, I suggest that you take care of the one time installation steps mentioned here:

And if you need to build the small filesystem, you can build the arago-tiny-image.

==> Yes, I just follow this documents to build rootfs earlier.

because the document only provide two build target (as below picture)

and we always meet qt5 related build issue when build tisdk-rootfs-image target.

So on this permise I find some build target form another document ,

but this document seem not only write for automotive project,

I am not sure that is arago-base-tisdk-image rootfs enough that use it to run TDA4 EVM board demo(CPSW, Vision_apps, ....).

And if you need to build the small filesystem, you can build the arago-tiny-image.

==> I find arago-tiny-image.tar.xz is too cleanly, it even didn't include boot files(Image, dtb files).

Our purpose is auto daily build a run-able image, and we can directly put it into a boot-able sdcard.

so arago-tiny-image seem not enough to support our purpose.

If arago-base-tisdk-image already can support us to run demo(CPSW, Vision_apps,... ),

I would like to choose to be our daily-build target.

Hi Sentinen,

Good to know that you have been able to build the arago-tiny-image. Yes, it is very small but atleast that shows a few things are in place at your end.

You can boot the TDA4 EVM with arago-tiny-image also, you just need to copy the Image and dtb into this image that is the only missing piece.

So, you have a path forward to create your daily build with arago-tiny-image and build the Image and dtb separately too.

Now, coming to your problem regarding qt5, please share with me the below information:

Ubuntu version
The failure log when you compile tisdk-rootfs - please add the file into the E2E as an attachment.
And also, the failure log of the component that is failing.
