TDA4VM: miniDP to HDMI not working

Hi Vibhor,

Could you please confirm below understanding?

Display port -> miniDP:  Works fine

Display Port -> miniDP -> HDMI : Does not work..

If the first one works fine, there is no issue in the display example.. This is something to do with miniDP to HDMI converter. Does this converter require any specific kind of input? or some additional input enable?

If the monitor has display port interface then connecting a display port to miniDP cable works. If the monitor has HDMI interface then using miniDP to HDMI adapter does not work. The same miniDP to HDMI adapter with same HDMI monitor works for me with my MacBook Air without any issues.

I dont think we have DP-HDMI adapter. So cannot say if this will work. 

Any specific reason why not use DP?

This is on a custom board which has a miniDP port connected to SERDES4.

Currently don't have a monitor that supports display port input. Many people are try the same combination with HDMI monitors but not working.

If miniDP to HDMI is not active converter, it will not work. so could you please check if it is passive converter?
