J721 SDcard Linux boot

Hello all,

I downloaded and installed Linux SDK then we created the Linux SD card following the instructions from We have tried different SW configuration for sw8 and sw9 ( sw8 = 1000 0010 sw9 = 0000 0000 , sw8=1000 1010 0000 sw9=0000 0000 ) but the system is not booting.  No errors .

What can I try ?

Thanks,

Alex

  • Hi Alex,

    SW3: 0111001010

The SW3 is right next to the 4 ethernet ports.

    My settings of SW8: 10000010
    SW9: 00000000

To start with. Copy the following binaries to the boot partition of your SD card:

    "Path to Linux SDK"/board-support/prebuilt-images/tispl.bin
    "Path to Linux SDK"/board-support/prebuilt-images/tiboot3.bin
    "Path to Linux SDK"/board-support/prebuilt-images/u-boot.img
    "Path to Linux SDK"/board-support/prebuilt-images/sysfw.itb

Connect the micro USB cable to micro USB port named UART to the first USB instance.
you Should see traces on minicom or teraterm.

    Best Regards,
    Keerthy
