AM335x-EVM flaws SO#T00805847

Hi Judy,

The pin missing from the JTAG connector is an orientation key.  Most Emulators will block the connector for this pin to ensure that connector is not inserted 180 degrees off.  The pin is clipped to support this.

The blue wire on the PCB is a correction that is part of the board assembly.  This is present on all the boards shipped to customers.

The touchscreen may be a software issue.  I will try to find someone that can help you debug the issue. Other than the touchscreen, are there any other operational problems with the EVM?

  I installed TI standard SDK, not my customed.

 It is quiet frustrated to see the blue wire.

    I have many Beaglebone black, and other companies' EVM, none of them have these issue .

Is this the Linux SDK build?  Which revision?  Does a USB mouse work when connected to the USB port?

   I install 06.03.00.106 SDK.

   I check the USB mouse, it works fine.

   But touch screen still cannot work.

  So, what's next ?  In what situation then I can make a replacement.

  R&D takes a lot of effort.

   If the EVM itself has flaws, it makes worse.

There is another thread concerning the failure of the touchscreen support in the latest software releases.

Based on your success with the mouse, I don't think you have any hardware issues with the EVM, this appears to be a software issue.  I will contact the software team and see if the issue will be solved in future releases.  You can also revert back to an earlier release of the software to check whether the touchscreen is operational.

    Since I bought a repaired EVM, and use standard TI SDK, it still cannot works fine on TouchPanel. 

    USB mouse and Touch panel use difference techniques and pins.

   I don't think USB mouse works fine means the EVM hardware is no any problem.

   Can I send the flaws EVM to you or to your any software team, and fix the problem. 

   (Maybe the blue wire goes wrong again, you may check it.)

   Then, send back.

    It makes me a lot troubles.
