hex55 utility does it support secure boot-image generation ?

Hi,

Further to our enquiry regarding the protection of firmware on a C5515 based DSP system, the standard hex55.exe boot-image generation utility only seems to generate unsecured boot-images. For external SPI EEPROM / FLASH etc. is it possible to generate secure boot-images ? If not will this feature ever be supported ? If not what other means are available for securing firmware into SPI EEPROM or flash for instance ??

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

M MARIN

  • Yes. As stated in SPRABD7, page 2, C5515 supports secure boot from external devices.

TI can supply the code to generate secure boot image after completing the US export compliance application. This process requires this info:

your name, your email address, company name, company address and application.

Thanks for your quick reply. what is the procedure for obtaining this hex55 code to do the secure boot image ? We can provide all details requested if you provide us with an email to send them to, or is there a site with a form to fill-in prior to download etc. ? Otherwise we can contact the local TI distributor ?

    Thanks in advance,
