DDR2 Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6472

I'm working with EVM6472. It has 256MB of DDR2 533MHz.

In this configuration PLL3 gets a clock of 26.66MHz, which, multiplied by 20 is 533MHz.

If, on my own board, I would use the exact same configuration, only give PLL3 a clock of 25MHz (500MHz after multiplying), would the DDR still work, only slower, or will there be other problems?

Thanks,

Arya.

  • Arya,

You can refer to the TMS320C6472 datasheet to find Section 7.10.1 "PLL3 Controller Device-Specific Information" on page 171. This section explains the operating conditions that are valid for PLL3. In particular, look at Table 7-43 "PLL3 Clock Frequency Ranges".

Is this what you were looking for?
