We purchased the adapter liked below but it does not appear to work. It should be identical to the one linked in the other thread. Is there anything I need to do in software to get it to work? SDK 6.02

Hi Bryan,
We have tested few DP to HDMI converters, it worked fine.
I am not sure if this adapter converts to HDMI signal. Can you please check in adapter manual and confirm?

Brijesh
Hi Brijesh,
Yes this is an active adapter that converts DP to HDMI. The chip inside the adapter is a Parade PS176HDM. The PS176HDM is receiving power from the HDMI monitor.
Thanks,
Bryan
Hello Bryan,
Can you please check in your log that you are seeing below message? This is required to get DP->HDMI working.
'Turning on DP_PWR pin for eDP adapters'

Brijesh
Also can you please check if the display that you are using supports 1080p resolution. vision apps currently supports only this resolution.
Regards,
Brijesh
Hi Brijesh,
We are still unable to get the DP to HDMI adapter working properly. We have done several tests with the EVM and still no luck. The test we conducted was this:
TI EVM using DP0
Used a meter to monitor TP74 V3V3_DP0 power.
Used the PSDK 7.0 binaries
We boot the board and see an output on the display port monitor, V3V3_DP0 is high at 3.3 V.
and see no output on our monitor. We also used and HDMI analyzer and saw no output there either.
Can you provide a more exact environment in which you were able to create a display chain?
Thanks,
Ben
HI Brijesh,
We were able to get the DP to HDMI converter working when we boot the TI EVM with the uEnv.txt.disp_sharing. We were able to see the console appear out the Displayport/HDMI. However when we try enabling psdkra and vision apps we do not see anything on the display.
Has TI been able to get the adapter working with vision apps, or has TI only been able to get it working when Linux controls the display?
Thanks,
Ben
Hi Ben,
This, kind of, tells me that the resolution supported by PSDKRA is not same as supported by DP to HDMI. In PSDKRA, the resolution is fixed to 1080p and its timing parameters are also fixed. If there is any change required in this resolution/timing parameter, by default, it will not work in PSDKRA..
Can you capture DSS timing register from working condition and share it? We can follow below FAQ to change display resolution.

Rgds,
Brijesh
