Dear TI Processor Team:

my customer has modified the CAL example CaptureCal to connect to a MIPI-CSI2 board with 4 lanes running @1.5Gbps.

When doing this he was wondering what is the role of the FVID2 driver (<ti/drv/fvid2/fvid2.h>) in this example

and in general.

Therefore my questions are:

1. What means the abbreviation FVID2 ?

2. Is there a document, e.g. functional description, about the FVID2 explaining the possibilities and the application of it ?

Hi Joe,

FVID2 is a video driver interface that is used in PDK to access and to configure video modules. So it is a common video interface using which video modules can be accessed. You could find more details about FVID2 sw interface at ti_components/drivers/pdk_01_10_02_07/docs/userguide/html/PDK_VPS_FVID2_User_Guide.html.

I have one more question:

Does the PDK_VPS_FVID2_User_Guide relate to the PROCESSOR_SDK_VISION or some other SDK?

Hi Joe,

This user guide was used on the earlier platform, but fvid2 interface is same. So yes, it can still be referred.

Also please refer to driver specific user guide to understand how driver implements and provides fvid2 interface.
