TDA4VM: Gb Ethernet -> CPU Max speed

I can see there's a 9 port Gb switch with the port facing the CPU referred to as "CPPI".

Is this port limited to 1Gb speed or can it run faster? For example, if 2 or more external ports are receiving 1Gb/sec traffic destined for the CPPI port - can this performance be maintained or will the switch start blocking as it can't maintain throughput?

We would like to be able to sustain 3-4 ports receiving at 1Gb/s & save this data to NVMe/PCIe SSD

Ciaran,

The switch is not limited, and you can configure multiple ports per the datasheet and it will sustain line-rate switching.

Thanks Dave,

What about on the CPU facing port - is this a 10Gb link then to sustain 8 ports at 1Gb? I couldn't tell from the docs other than it mentions "Packet Straming Interface" but I couldn't see any numbers against that.

Yes, the device architecture supports the higher data rate on the host port, allowing for the multiple concurrent external ports.
