Evaluation board for TMS320C6A8168

Hello Marc,

Appreciate your response to my previous posts on TMS320C6A8168.

I have below queries on the Evaluation board for TMS320C6A8168.

1. Which version of the TMS320C6A8168 silicon is available on the evaluation board.

2. We are planning to order the evaluation board now. Is it possible that we get the evalaution board with socket option for the processor? This will help us to replace the on-board TMS320C6A8168 silicon with new versions of the TMS320C6A8168 silicon as and when released.

3. We understand from our local TI representatives(located at Mumbai, India) that the current evaluation board has PG1.1 silicon (wherein DDR3 issues are resolved), I doubt this is true. Could you please confirm on this?

    Mahesh,

    Here are the answers to your questions:

    1. The current EVM is DDR2 with PG1.0 device. 

    2. A socket option is not available.

    3. The next revision of the EVM is DDR3 with PG1.1. Order entry will start in 1Q11 and it will ship in 2Q11.
