Most of pins with a Pad Configuration Register can be left unconnected with their multiplexing mode set to GPIO input and internal pulldown resistor enabled.
For pins without a Pad Configuration Register, which are MUXMODE is blank and TYPE have Input or Analog in "Table 4-1. Pin Attributes" on the data sheet, is an external pull resistor required to hold a valid logic level?
