AM5728: What is the function of the 0.22uF near DDR Termination Resistance?

Part Number: AM5728

Hi Expert,

What is the function of the 0.22uF near DDR Termination Resistance?

Is it for keeping stable voltage?

Why use VDD_DDR If it is for keeping stable voltage? Could it use GND?

Thanks

Daniel

  • Yes - caps are used to filter any noise differences between the IO supply and its reference.  VDD_DDR can be used for supply filter if IO signals are referenced to the IO power plane rather than GND.  If signals are all referenced to GND (preferred), then above schematic snip-it should replace VDD_DDR with GND.
