AM5728: Linux SDK: do we plan to release a SDK based on Linux Kernel 5.x?

Part Number: AM5728

Team,

Do we plan to release a SDK based on Linux Kernel 5.x (LTS 5.4)? Any timelines?

Also what are our process to push our kernel patches to kernel.org?
How can we check what TI patches (from our TI git://git.ti.com/processor-sdk/processor-sdk-linux.git Branch: processor-sdk-linux-4.19) have been pushed to the main Linux tree?

Thanks in advance,

A.

  • Hi,

Please find my answers in order:

    1. Yes we do have plans for 5.x Linux kernel based SDK sometime late in Q4 of this year.
    2. Based on the module we pick the right mailing list. You can use ./scripts/get_maintainer.pl "patch_name" to get the right set of Maintainers & mailing list that your patches have to be reviewed by. You can add them to Cc and post the patches.
    3. There is may/may not be a direct mapping of internal patches to external. As the review process gets some redesigns on the existing patches. So if you are interested in specific patches then simplest would be to do a code review on that particular module in main line kernel.

Hope you can resolve this thread if there are no further questions.

    Best Regards,
    Keerthy
