TDA4VM: TDA4VM (PRG0_MDIO0_MDIO)

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi ,TDA4VM SOM  "PRG0_MDIO0_MDIO".There is only one MDIO signal in PRU_ICSSG0_MDIO0, how to monitor two-channel Ethernet communication?

  • Liu,

By default the SoC-level MDIO0 is used for the GESI PHY communication. The PRG0 and PRG1 MDIOs are for use with the ICSSG communication.

MDIO0 comes through pin 97 and pin 99 of the expansion connector.

    From the EVM user guide:

4.8.4 MUX – PRGx_MDIO/MDC, CPSW9G_MDIO/MDC J721E SoC supports common MDIO/MDC lines from CPSW9G domain and individual PRG_MDIO/MDC control to the RGMII PHYs through Mux IC U34 and U35. I2C5 interface of J721E SoC muxed with PRG0_MDIO0_MDC/MDIO signals. Mux channel selection is done by toggling the MDIO_MDC_SEL0 and MDIO_MDC_SEL1 signals from Jacinto7 EVM CPB IO Expander I2C0/0x20 Port 15 and 16.

    Best regards,

    Dave
