DM355 codec

We are just looking at DM355 and until now it seemed perfect. However, I see that it is not possible to play .avi and other movie files without transcoding - is gstreamer a reliable transcoder or if not are there other ways to play standard containerised video files on DM355? Thanks

Hi Richard,

What kind of codec does the avi file use? Please note that DM355 only has Jpeg and Mpeg4 support. Also, the mpeg4 is closed loop decoder, i.e, it can decode streams only encoded on DM355.

Just for your info, DM365 supports many more codecs and has universal Mpeg4 decoder also.
