AM5728: Camera Feed preview is not proper

Hi,

We have AM5728 based EVM(version-3) and Camera:- Omnivision Camera 10635

The feed of the camera preview when displayed on the Linux system through application qt-opencv-opencl-opengl-multithreaded available with linux SDK 6.03 has a slight colour

distortion for example black colour is displayed purple. Please suggest how to correct this. Correct colour identification is required for our application.

Rashmi,

Can you either snap a picture off the EVM display, or if can you capture to a file using yavta tool, that may give some clue. Usual suspect is the mismatched color format. note that ONLY supported camera capture format is UYVY interleaved mode YUV422.

To debug, you may follow documentations on:

software-dl.ti.com/.../VIP.html

then use a YUV player to play the captured file and see if it is indeed in UYVY.

Hi Jian,

Please find attached the image taken from EVM and share your suggestion for the above mentioned problem. The T-shirt and mask colour is black which is visible as purple in imgae.KIndly suggest , how to resolve.

Your camera module might have no IR-cut filter or a faulty one.

You could put an external IR-cut filter in front of your camera to see if that fixes the black color.
