How to use speaker on dm365evm board as a "buzzer"

My application does not do any voice or sound but I need to use the speaker on the dm365evm board for a simple buzzer to do audible warnings. What would be the easiest to get some tones out of it? Where should I start to look for examples or applications and what else could I need?

Dear Marcus, I am not sure how to address the voice codec to produce sound out of the speaker. From sprufi9band sprs457d I get a couple of registers but for a newby to codec would like to see some more documentation on just how operate this module. Is the output going to lineO the same as going to spp on the speaker? Are there maybe better diagrams with more detailthan figure1 if sprufi9b to show what is connected to what as I can't find the registers to drive spp? If it is through the codec indirectly, where could I find some implementation examples?
