TDA4VM: MMC interface does it support encryption

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hi Champs

does the TDA4VM MMC interface support encryption? In the TRM is says the below, it is conflicting between supporting the secure digital and not? but does that mean we support encryption on the MMC interface on tDA4VM or not?

Thanks

  • Hi Mohsen,

The TRM snippet did not come through, could you re-attach it?

  • here you go its in section 12.3.6.1.1

  • Hi Mohsen,

Note the MMCSD host controller instance number in supported and unsupported sections.

    Vishal

  • Hi Vishal

thanks for pointing that out but still if you look at the not supported it says MMCSD1/MMCSD2 host controller does not support secure digital card but above it says that MMCSD1/MMCSD2 does support secure digital card? so which is true? or when it says don't support is just certain features? We might want to clarify exactly what we support and what we don't.

also does that mean we do support encryption on the MMC interface or that is something else? Can you also comment on this please.

    Thanks

  • Hi Mohsen,

It is stating UHS-II SD cards are not supported and UHS-I cards are supported with exception of SDR104 speed mode.

  • ok great can you answer my 2nd questions also please below

also does that mean we do support encryption on the MMC interface or that is something else? Can you also comment on this please.

    Thanks

  • I am not sure about this question, need to check and get back.
Haven't heard of encryption and MMC.

  • Mohsen,

Can you be specific about the features you are looking for?  I don't see encryption specifically called out in the spec.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Shiou Mei
