Question on battery for DM6437 devices

Hello,

I would like to ask some questions about batteries for DM6437-based device.

The first question is that can I simply replace EVM6437 adaptor’s DC 5V input with a 5V battery, as long as the battery’s nominal current is sufficient? How can I calculate the current needed for the whole device?

If a battery can be used instead of an adaptor, then which type, among the numerous types available, is best suited for a portable DM6437-based device? Should it be lithium battery as for a mobile phone, or a Li-ion battery which I found on a Nikon digital camera, or other types? Is there any good material giving practical comparisons of different battery’s

I believe TI should have numerous customers building devices using DM6437, so is there a TI statistics, survey, or recommendation?

Thanks,

Zheng
