Question on EVM6437 Boot DIP switch

Hello,

I have one question on EVM6437 Boot DIP switches.

According to its tech reference, these DIP switches could provide “interactive feedback” to the user. More concretely, what does this mean? How does the user interact with them?

And in which way can they affect booting (that’s why they are called “Boot” DIP switch)?

Thanks,

Zheng

  • Zheng,

    We meet again.

As you are reviewing the schematics (which is a good practice, by the way), I would suggest also having the device datasheet and user's guides available for reference to determine the "why" and "how".

The DM643x datasheet will indicate how these particular pins are used at the deascertion of reset to select the Boot mode.  This DIP switch provides the ability to select these modes.

    Dear Brandon,

I should have done that. Thanks for reminding.
