Hi Ramin,

It would require if you want to boot out of QSPI. Otherwise by default am5746 boots
from SD Card. What is your requirement? If you do not want to boot from QSPI it should be not be mandatory.
Are you thinking of some different flash part?

We are using en eMMC device to boot from.

Why would I need another device such as S25FL256S or One Time Programmable device?
