I have been trying to use the xds200 with the TDA4VM EVM and it seems that I get disconnected and get the below error. I am able to run the script and it does initialize everything but when it just sites there idle it happens after like 5 minutes or even sometimes a shorter time. I tried lower the JTAG clock the same issue it does not make a difference. If I use the xds110 that is on the EVM that does not happen. So its very strange why this is happing? Have anybody seen this happen with the xds200 and the TDA4VM evm running CCS9.3.

MCU_Cortex_R5_0: Error: (Error -1170 @ 0x0) Unable to access the DAP. Reset the device, and retry the operation. If error persists, confirm configuration, power-cycle the board, and/or try more reliable JTAG settings (e.g. lower TCLK). (Emulation package 8.4.0.00006)

It looks like I get the same error when using the internal XDS110. Any help would be great.

Is this behavior consistent with xds110 too? Or does this happen randomly?

It happens all the time, after being connected for couple of minutes or sometimes quicker.

Hi Mohsen,

I left the CCS connected for > 20mins with xds110 connected (after launching the launch.js script) - I did not see a crash.

Can you please confirm if your config is the same as mine:

I use CCS Version: 9.3.0.00012 on Windows - can you confirm your version and OS you run on? (is this VM or native)

Also, can you just try to re-install the CCS and see if that helps?

yep same version as yours, and the emulator is the same. If you like we can do a webex and I can show you what is going on.

Hi Mohsen,

Please let me know if this persists even after reinstallation, else we can get on a webex to see the issue. Also, is this Virtual machine or Native Linux or Native Windows?
