It is a general question i have, is there a possibility to use/port Linux instead of DSP/BIOS (5.x or 6.x) as RTOS to work on TI DSP processor ?

The short answer is yes, Linux works on a large number of embedded processors.
TI provides Linux support for some of their devices: which one are you using?

There is an active open source project to port Linux to Texas Instruments c64x family of digital signal processors and multicore devices. Go to the following Wiki site for more details:
