AM5728: Processor with gigabit ethernet, 16 bit or wider parallel interface, linux BSP, and developer board

Part Number: AM5728
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA821

Can you please provide a processor recommendation for my application with the following features ?

  • Processor type preferred to have ARM core, but DSP core is acceptable as well. Minimal number of cores
  • Minimum of 1 gigabit/ 1000 Mbps ethernet interface
  • Serial console interface available via USB or hardwired serial to get access to kernel prompt
  • 16 bit or larger high speed (20 MHz or higher) parallel bus via external memory interface  (EMIF, bus, etc that will interface to custom FPGA). Using a 16 bit GPIO port is not acceptable. A high speed serial bus is not an acceptable alternative.
  • Hardware development board available now, preferably manufactured and supported in USA  with the the gigabit ethernet and parallel interface to jump start my development
  • Preferred to have processor available on a system on module (SOM) or microsom form factor
  • Board support Package (BSP) with Linux kernel preferred, and TI RTOS, or other RTOS BSP are acceptable. BSP and kernel must support TCP/IP using the gigabit ethernet and with parallel bus support

The application is an general purpose internet gateway that sends and receives sensor data.

i've looked at beagleboards http://beagleboard.org/enhancedand

http://beagleboard.org/ai, but t they don't appear to have the wide parallel bus. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: The AM5728 was only selected to satisfy the E2E website to submit the request. I am open to other processors and processor family devices.

EDIT: It is acceptable to use a multiplexed (Address + Data) parallel bus interface as well.
