Queries on TMS320C6A8168

Hello,

Could you please respond to below queries?

1. Does the processor has on-die temperature sensing feature? or Does it has dedicated pins for interfacing external temperarure sensor

2. Processor has two independent DDR channels (DDR0 and DDR1), how does this really helps in faster and efficient memory access? Does the performance equals 64 bit DDR interface due to interleaving feature?

3. Can I use the Analog video out and digital video out (HDMI) for displaying independent videos simultaneously?

Regards,

Mahesh Shinde

  • Mahesh,

Here are the answers to your questions:

    1) No, the processor does not have an on-die temperature sensing feature or dedicated pins for interfacing external temperarure sensors.

    2) The DDR interfaces are supported by a Dynamic Memory Manager (DMM) which uses Mapping and Interleaving to achieve high efficiency.  It interleaves data between the two memory controllers and these simultaneous writes effectively double the DDR bandwidth.

    3) Yes, you can display independent simultaneous videos on the HDMI and analog video outputs.

    Regards,
    Marc
