Hi,

I am trying to develop an usecase with JPEG yuv422 input to TDA4X from AR0233 in built ISP sensor and dump frame to file.

I modified single camera usecase to only capture JPEG yuv422 frame and dump to file. Removed VPSS, Display pipeline. Set input format as VX_DF_IMAGE_UYVY.

I am getting garbage data in file dump.

How can i know incoming stream bitstream_sizes? Do i need to do any other change in imaging or tiovx or in single camera usecase?

YUV422 capture and frame save is a newly added feature in 7.1 SDK release. The camera supported is LI-AR0233-GW5200

I strongly recommend switching to 7.1 release.

Also JPEG encoding is not supported. Please refer to encode userguide for the supported formats..

Thank you for response.

I am using RA V07.00.00.

In built ISP will give JPEG 8 bit stream. So i want to accept JPEG stream to deserializer of TDA4X and dump JPEG image on TDA4X.

Which all software components I need to change in single camera usecase, AR0233 driver, tiovx to accept JPEG and dump on TDA4X?

Hi,

More update:

For JPEG mipi data type is 0x30 ICP_MIPI_PIXEL_WIDTH_8 but in csl_fvid2_dataTypes.h file CSI2 data type support is till 0x2F FVID2_CSI2_DF_RAW20.

What do i need to set for CCS format, CSI2 data type and Capture Extract Data Format to accept JPEG stream?

Hi Prashant,

We dont support JPEG capture over CSI input. Only uncompressed video data is supported.

So can you check if your ISP can output in uncompressed RGB/YUV format? That way, you would not even require JPEG decompression..

As per TDA4X TRM section 1.3.15 Camera Subsystem : Over 25 different programmable formats including YUV420, YUV422, RGB, Raw, and User Defined.

Can we get JPEG over CSI2 using user defined format?

Hi Prashant,

Yes, it is supported in the HW, but not in SW.

Typically, CSI interface is used to capture uncompressed video data. Even if you capture JPEG frames from ISP, how are you going to use it? I think decoder does not support JPEG decoding and i think JPEG decoding is additional step.

So if ISP can output in uncompressed format, it would be best..

Yes, That is correct.

We need to support AR0233 inbuilt ISP with bypss ISP(RAW), YUV422 and JPEG. We are using TDA4X + fusion board to receive all mentioned operating mode. RAW mode is working fine on TDA4X. Now need to add support for YUV422 and JPEG. So for testing purpose We can get JPEG and dump frame as JPEG decoder is not supported yet.

Hi Prashant,

JPEG capture and encode/decode are not supported, as of now, as far as i know, there is no plan to support it.

I would suggest using YUV422 as input, as this is already supported and it reduces overall overhead..
