TDA4VM: RTI watchdog can not trigger GIC interrupt

You can refer to /drivers/watchdog/rti_wdt.c in linux SDK. And enable RTI0 int(int num 240) of GIC. By default, interrupt is not supported in the driver. Can you provide me with a demo for RTI watchdog interrupt?  thanks

It is used as fusa mechanism. if watchdog is timeout, one interrupt occurs and trigger safety mechanism in interrupt handle.

There is no demo available for RTI WDG interrupt handling on the Linux side.

For FuSa mechanism i recommend to check the RTOS side file: ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-07_01_00_11/pdk_jacinto_07_01_00_45/packages/ti/csl/src/ip/rti/V0/priv/rti.c

As per the roadmap no Functional safety watchdog driver is planned for Linux. CSL is available on RTOS sdk. AUTOSAR WDG is target for 7.3 SDK.

In my test, it doesn't work. And in the TRM, I see: real time interrupt is not supported(What't this meaning?). Please help me analyze, thanks.

I am checking with the internal team. I will get back to you as soon as i hear from them.

Typically watchdog interrupts are not registered in Linux if you see they generally directly reset the system
& hence you do not see the interrupt part in DT & driver.

Dip switch settings on the TDA4 Board:

SW2 and SW3 on the SOM board control the error signal handling. My setup is:

SW2: 1-off, 2-on

SW3: 1-on, 2-off

I found a quick way to validate the watch-dog reset on Linux side.

Boot to Linux prompt using PSKD Linux. Type the following commands.

cd /opt/ltp/

./runltp -P j721e-idk-gw -f ddt/wdt_test -s "WDT_M_FUNC_WRI

This is the default way of using the watchdog expiry from Linux side.

In the default linux configuration, the event coming out of RTI goes to ESM, which generates a safety event, and this in turn is configured to be routed directly to PMIC to issue a system wide reset.

The interrupts reaching CPU has not been validated.
