PROCESSOR-SDK-AM65X: Warm Reset

Hello,

I previously posted a question related to the IDK EVM hanging after a press of the warm reset button. The response at the time indicated that the issue would be resolved in the next version of the IDK.

I now have the new IDK with the eMMC reset GPIO ANDed with the RESETSTATz and with a power switch for the SD card, but the problem still persists. When pressing the SW7 warm reset button, the system does not reset and the IDK hangs.

I don't have all the history on this issue - but it appears the SW7 button is connected to RESETz (pin F17). This is the warm reset pin for the Main domain. The boot for the device is control from the MCU/R5F, and then passed to the A53. For a warm reset to re-boot the system, I believe the MCU_RESETz pin would need to be asserted. In the schematics - it appears this pin is NOT connected to SW7 (warm reset button). Therefore - I do not think it your request is supported.

That is unfortunate that they warm reset does not reboot the system, but good to know.
