Hello,

Please answer following question of OMAPL138 USB0_VBUS.

Datasheet page 81 describes Absolute Maximum Ratings USB0_VBUS is 5.5V maximum. (Up to a maximum of 24 hours.)

Does this mean that 5V can be applied to USB0_VBUS terminal while any power supplies are off ?

Background of this question:

Our customer is using USB0 as device.

At first, OMAPL138 is powered off and USB0 is connected to working host .

So, 5V VBUS　voltage form USB connector is applied to USB0_VBUS of OMAPL138.

Customer concern if this situation cause any damege to OMAPL138.

The USB0_VBUS should not be powered to 5V while the other supplies are off. The 5.5V absolute maximum in the datasheet means that USB0_VBUS should not exceed 5.5V for more than 24 hours while operating.

Please advice what will happen, If the USB0_VBUS is powered to 5V while the other supplies are off,

Does it cause any functional problem or damage to OMAPL138?

Tony,

Providing a 5V supply to the device while other supplies are off may cause back-powering of the OMAP-L138 which could result in damage to the device.
