Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3715
Hi all,
I am doing a new design using OMAP3530. I don't want to put POP memory need to separate Ram and NAND flash. Which available RAM and NAND FLASH I can use in my design? Thanks.

Hi Kevin,
This product does not have ongoing design support from TI for new projects, such as new content or software updates. If available, you will find relevant collateral, software and tools in the product folder. You can also search for archived information on this forum.
Hi Kevin,
I assume you use Linux, all Sitara processors are supported by the Processor SDK Linux software package, which has the unified U-Boot/Linux, so the software porting effort should be very close for all Sitara processors.
It looks I can migrate to AM3730. But the same question, what memories I can use? Thanks.
Hi Kevin,
Similar to OMAP3530, AM3730 has limited design support from TI.
Please consider AM335x or AM437x device families.
I am not aware of any documentation for migrating from OMAP3530 to AM335x or AM437x, but following links have the details of AM335x and AM437x device families.

Kevin,
As Bin mentions, I don't suggest starting brand new OMAP3530/AM3715 designs at this point. You'd be much better moving to the AM335x. The pin-out is much different, but the underlying Cortex A8 and GPU are very similar to OMAP3. AM335x supports DDR3L which will be much easier to procure than LPDDR.
Best regards,
Brad
Brad,
I understand. But we are using OMAP3530 for our production right now. We want to do it's using separated NADN flash and DDR RAM instead of POP memory. If we move to AM335X, means we need redesign all of our hardware/firmware/software, We don't want to do it unless OMAP3530 is EOL soon.
I want to know if I can use MT46H32M32LFB5-5 IT:B TR and MT29F2G16ABBEAHC-AIT:E TR in OMAP3530.
Thanks,
Kevin

A less invasive approach might be to migrate to the AM3715 CUS package with non-PoP LPDDR. Support will be very limited from TI however, so that's a tradeoff you'll have to make in staying with these much older devices.

We do not obsolete devices out of convenience. As long as customers continue to order this device we will make every effort to continue manufacturing it. This is covered in more detail here: https://www.ti.com/support-quality/quality-policies-procedures/product-life-cycle.html

Please work with your memory vendor to determine compatibility.
