TDA4VM: TDA4 CSIRX receiving camera data problem

Hi Donny,

This is not restriction in CSIRX. This error comes when there is mismatch in resolution between sensor and CSIRX. It seems sensor is sending longer frame than what is configured in capture/CSIRX. Can you please make size is matching?

Thank you for your reply, I'm sure the resolution of the camera matches;

I did the following experiments:

1. The single channel camera 3840 * 1920 raw12 can work normally;

2. The dual camera 3780 * 1920 raw12 can work normally;

3. Double channel camera 3840 * 1920 raw12 can't receive the error above;

When the graph is not received, we read the register 0x04504060，Read bit16 result is 1:

So I have to wonder what's wrong with UDMA.

Does csirx support 2.5G 4lane? Can UDMA handle it?

Hi Donny,

You are seeing fifo overflow issue, which is why it is detecting short/long frames.

Can you do one experiment? can try changing fifo_fill field in CSI_RX_IF_VBUS2APB_STREAM0_CFG register to lets say 1440 and see if there is any improvement?

The fifo_fill field in CSI_RX_IF_VBUS2APB_STREAM0_CFG register Changed from 0 to 1440，The problem of overflow still exists,

Why is it changed to 1440? Is there anything else to change?

The CSI_RX_IF_VBUS2APB_ERROR_IRQS register(0x04504028) : 0x00010000(The FIFO_OVERFLOW field is 1),

One more experiment that will help us to understand where is the problem. 

You mentioned that dual camera with 3780 * 1920 raw12 can work normally. Can you keep 3780 width, but increase height to equivalent of 3840x1920, lets 3780x1950 and see if it works fine? 

I wanted to see if we keep same pixel rate, does the behavior change?

It seems something related to width, not related to frame size. 

Can you try setting fifo_mode to 0x0 in CSI_RX_IF_VBUS2APB_STREAM0_CFG register for the non-working resolution?

I set fifo_mode to 0x0 in CSI_RX_IF_VBUS2APB_STREAM0_CFG register for the non-working resolution, it still didn’t work.

The CSI_RX_IF_VBUS2APB_STREAM0_CFG register(0x0450410C) : 0x00000000(The fifo-mode field is 0).
